post 27

This is going to be pretty LONG... record-breaking long in fact. But read on. Before anything else though, I figured I'd start with some quotes in lieu of just ranting candidly again.

OK, I saw this in the newspaper yesterday:
"Drive it like you stole it."

Hahaha! Soon, soon... soon.

I also saw this in the Ateneo grade school last Sunday:
"Listen and Silent are spelled with the same words."

True, True.

F_R_I_D_A_Y:

My Friday last week... was actually Headache misspelled. Maybe the ONLY good thing that happened was that I passed the Filipino exam which I thought I really screwed up since I don't really excel in the vernacular in the first place. Aside from that, the real pain was during CAT, when I had to put up with Mr. Sack-of-Potatoes/Moks once again and painstakingly make 80 squat-thusts to gratify his frenzied urge to see us all train for a war that won't concretely materialize anyway. Shit. As much as I want to defy that really tactless haircut rule, I'm gonna have to enslave myself to it and get my hair done like everyone else. Damn. Whatever happened to my strong advocacy against conformity? Ahh... down the drain for the moment.
Ok, so later that night, I was supposed to go to that Spongecola CD launch but then it rained too fucking hard, so I just had to stay home and sleep early. Ha. Sleep early. Sounds a bit alien to me. I don't get enough of 'em.

But I still managed to get the CD for HER with someone's help --> yung BASSIST na nahihiya dyan... Salamat ng marami Isi! :)

S_A_T_U_R_D_A_Y:

I woke up at 6:30 am. I knew it was early but I just couldn't manage to lay down again and sleep... Na-excite ata ako sa band practice.... hmm.. Hahaha! Then, at exactly 10:48, I arrived at McDo Katipunan and met up with "And More", the band (Inigo, Edwin, Poch, Isi, Me, Fab, etc?). I ate lunch and we left for Inigo's house to practice for the impending variety shows we're joining in November: MCHS & Assumption Antipolo. But according to Fidel, the auditions are on the first week of October... so we're, yes, cramming in all aspects again. And I know what you guys are thinking: "yes naman... popular." Hell no. It's not like we've gained this one-way ticket to chicklandia or fame we so want to brag about. We love what we do and that's what simply keeps us going. The same thing with Pleasurebox.

So after somewhat compromising my pancreas through that taxi ride to Inigo's village (so we were 6 in the taxi excluding the driver?... so imagine us cramped like slaves being shipped to Madagascar...), we walked all the way to his house and even lost a part of the high-hat, which is part of the drumset. Shyet! The drumset's malfunctioning... Oh Tommy, where art thou? someone pay me...argh. Anyway, the dogs really stinked. But the bitch (was there?) was cute and on the verge of being really pathetic. Anyway again, we set up the equipment as soon as we got there and we practiced our cover of Incubus's "Take me to your leader", which can be found in their first album Fungus Amongus which mainly composed of funk rock and stuff they're pretty much ashamed of as of today. Well, we rehearsed the song around 4-5 times and I think we've 86% mastered it. Astig. The next songs on our playlist are Silverchair's "Freak" and Lisa Loeb's "Stay"... So there. 3 beautiful cover songs that ought to make everyone cry either because they love or hate us. Or wala lang... gusto lang nila umiyak... feeling...

Other Side happenings:

- Inigo wounding me on the lip because he thought I needed the goddamn mic up high and I thought he didn't mind me so I reached down and... Boom! I collided with the metal part of the mic and to much of his amusement and hearty laughter, I was bleeding and well, I still have the mark til now. argh. Sige Poch, tumawa ka na.

- We watched "In the Raw" which was taped by Inigo on vhs which featured my favorite local band PLANE DIVIDES THE SKY (which IS basically a product of the FOE breakup. haay, Conrad, nawala ka nanaman) besides others who've made it big already like Sandwich & Kapatid or Sugarfree, etc. Well, I'll have to say it. They're so fucking good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!! I want....to... be...like... them........ period.

- Wrestling. I actually ...watched and enjoyed momentary sadism. Ahh.. correction, slightly, well, more than that, it was really immature. Like shit televised to influence the young mind to act like a big brute and incorporate a win-by-force mentality as early as 6 years old.

- Edwin Mendame's Fender Stratocaster, na naghahalagang P26,000.00. Damn. No... that's not expensive. No it isnt. No... Nahh.. Well, it sounded as good as it looked. Basically a beauty. It was light green. Pero asitg rin yung gitara (RJ) ni Poch. Nafrufrustrate lang ako. Di ko matono. Naiiyak ako!!! Argh! Bahala na.

- We jammed til our hands were sore.

- The fx ride to Katipunan with some fags up front gave me the shivers.

- We spent the last 3 hours at McDo and we laughed like we've never laughed before! I was... laughed at. Hahahaha!! Then, half of SPONGECOLA sat down a few meters away from us and I was suddenly coerced by my conscience to ask for their autograph (so that I can give it to her nicely). I went with Isi towards them. No actually he went with me. Basta. So I went to Armo (the guitarist) and Gosh (the bassist), who laughed in surprise before agreeing. I figured they still weren't over the fact that they've created a sea of fans (mostly the "crazy for you" ones). They even offered some fries but I was too shy... Hahaha!! Pero si Isi mas nahihiya pa sa akin ng sobra eh. Malamang. Hahaha!!

After some ice cream, I left for home and ate and sat down and watched TV, which I have not done in a long time... So that's how my Saturday ended. :)

S_U_N_D_A_Y:

I basically went to mass first thing in the morning with my family. Then she texted me. Wow. Tagal na... felt really ok. Anyway, I watched Fritz' football game which he won. Good for him. He has undoubtely a bright future unlike some people in my class. I also went to the Pasarelle basketball game in the Blue Eagle Gym, where they lost the championship to San Beda. All it took was a bunch of stupid lay-ups. Haay... pumunta pa kasi ako eh. Hahaha! Bad luck.

Then I went to the mall. Wasted time. I listened to Alien Ant Farm and the best of Silverchair vol. 1 at Music One. Breathtaking. Argh. I liked Silverchair's "Cemetery"... Astig.

And so does the Diorama CD by Silverchair:

Diorama - Silverchair

1. Across The Night
2. The Greatest View
3. Without You
4. World Upon Your Shoulders
5. One Way Mule
6. Tuna In The Brine
7. Too Much Of Not Enough
8. Luv Your Life
9. The Lever
10. My Favourite Thing
11. After All These Years
-------------------------
(others i want to include if ever Poch/Fab is going to burn me a CD)
12. Cemetery
13. The Door
14. Slave
15. Cicada
16. Israel's Son
-------------------------

Then, I voted for the NU ROCK AWARDS! This one was at Music One in Megamall. Here's the list of who and what I voted for:

1. Best New Artist: Kapatid !!! yeah...
2. Best Band/Artist: Kapatid !!! olrayt...

9. Best Album Packaging: Barbie's Cradle's "Playing in the Fields"
10. Best Producer: Louie Talan for Razorback (sana sa amin rin balang araw...)

YEAH!!

After that, I went home and watched "Analyze that", something I've wanted to watch for a long time now. Well the story was hilarious and creepily mad at times. Let's just say it's not the kind of movie you'd want you and your parents to watch together and expect a wholesome motif or something. But I actually give it an 8.5 out of 10 because Robert de Niro somehow kicked ass again.

Then, I ended the day nicely by talking to her (after so long... actually just a week and a day if I'm not mistaken... basta, it felt like a month) We've agreed to meet this Saturday in Ateneo... Hope I'm free by then. :)

M_O_N_D_A_Y:

Report Card Day. Aww man.

My mom said I was too fatalistic. Yeah, sometimes. But yesterday was an exception because I did get a really screwed-up grade for Physics. It pulled me down than the usual QPI I get. Well, at least I could brag about the fact that I got the highest grade in the class for English. Together with Edwin. A 91. That's it. And everything else was ok except for Physics. I hate it. I hate it. *looking for synonyms...* I loathe it. Argh. Whatever! This term though, I'm vowing to be in the honors to taste the sky for once.

Then I decided to help around the house before cramming for some schoolwork. Sakit sa ulo.

Then I talked wih HER. We talked about...hmm.. Candy & Pulp mags, Incubus' Pardon Me, her 'friends'.. what else... nuthin special...

Haay... CRAM. I crammed for this english paper. *sighs* I'll name my son Cram. HAHAHA!

OK, read this carefully and tell me if you can relate like I do:
-------------------------

"One Man Army" - Our Lady Peace

Take these PLASTIC people
Read their lips; now let it linger
Is there anything that makes them sound sincere?
Tightly hold your hand
Take a deep breath; give them the FINGER
Are you worried?
That your thoughts are not quite clear?

Twitch!

Overlooked, UNFIT appearance
I remember falling
I remember marching
Like a one man army
Through the blaze
I remember coughing
I believe in SOMETHING
I don't want to remember falling
For their lies

Unbutton your clothes
Undress your soul; show them your vigor
Are those inhibitions easiest to fear?
Take this gasoline tin
Head up high; walk like a winner
Let the bare feet be the last sound that they hear

-------------------------

Maybe I just want to fly
I want to live I don't want to die
Maybe I just want to breath
Maybe I just don't believe
Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
YOU and I are gonna live forever

- Oasis, "Live Forever"
