I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE CLOSING DOWN KAFE IN KATIPUNAN. I CAN'T ACCEPT IT.

Nakakainis! My dream of playing there in October is, well, shattered like... that Rivermaya song. Argh. One more time.. Argh! Argh! Damn.. Argh! I wanted to play there more than anywhere else in the first place when I was starting to be in the band... and now that I'm part of this other band, my desire to play in Kafe was at its peak. I feel really disappointed for not being able to mar history a bit by playing there with Pleasure Box (& with "and more"). So WHERE does my band go now? To Ardz? (Small chance at Freedom bar...) Why on earth did they have to name it Ardz?? It's so STUPIDLY unique. Their so-called ambient stench of cigarettes and, to an even greater extent than to the one of Kafe's, ALCOHOL is so fucking rockstar-ish that it contradicts the essence of playing music in the first place. Music is supposed to be played sans the association of getting drunk and laid and being pricked with so on and so on... blah blah. But that's only really manifested seldomly, mostly in unseen areas...

But...

THEY'RE CLOSING DOWN KAFE FOR THE SOLE PREMISE THAT LIQUOR IS, AND LIKE IN EVERY APT PLACE, BEING SOLD TO EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF AGE, WHICH IS REALLY UNFAIR TO THE LARGER FRACTION OF THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY GO THERE TO LISTEN TO MUSIC AND NOT TO GET DRUNK AND FLIRT AROUND.

It really paints this image of an excessively paranoid type of supervision in my head. They didn't have to close down one of the most active breeding grounds for music itself and young bands to explore themselves. A friend told me that MIRIAM was behind the murder of KAFE... He said that they found out (wow. galing! ngayon lang...) that people actually sell liquor to minors in Kafe. Well, I have just one thing to say to them: THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW KAFE HAS GREATLY "UN-HANDICAPPED" MANY PEOPLE TO GET OUT OF THEIR SHELL, BE OPEN TO MORE MUSIC, AND BE WITH THEIR FRIENDS IN A VENUE THAT'S NOT PERFECT, MIND YOU, BUT A GOOD PLACE TO CATCH BANDS PERFORM!

More obviously than that, it's inevitable. If their sons hang out with a bad crowd/friends, etc; they are most likely to drink all their teenage lives, smoke their lungs out, and in the end, realize that it wasn't worth doing. And they should not blame it on Kafe. Kafe was simply a venue whose beauty was waned gradually by people who didn't give a damn and were selfish enough to call themselves rockstars/posers/bastards,etc.

Ultimately, they can't blame the place for something that nature has manifested itself through.

Argh. Not a flash report. By the time I publish this, eveyone now knows that ATENEO LOST TO FEU by 20 plus points. I can't believe it. We lost our composure, momentum, and everything that mattered at that time. Kramer travelled a mile!! And everyone lost their touch.. My classmates actually took time out to witness that awful recoiling of Ateneo. *sighs* We lost. Yup.. We did. And we just have to win the next game. We.. have to!

Band auditions are on October 11 for both Miriam and AA. And we've got to practice, "AND MORE"!
> Practice: Future Star : 3-5 pm Sat. uhh.. dala kayo ng baon. joke!

On Saturday morning, I'm required to visit the houses (ok, i'll specify...) of my public elementary school students in the 'slums' of San Roque. Want a visual? Sari-sari stores every angle you set your eyes on and people look like they want to eat 'cause, no offense, they look a bit malnourished. Anyway, I'm gonna meet their parents and be the righteous teacher that I should be. I'll put on a smile, shake their hands, and erase the temptation to be plastic. Then, if I have the time before 3 pm, I'll go meet up with someone. Then I'm off to (ok.. stalk me...) the studio. Phew... Then, try to study a bit...
