"Without Hues and You's"
by ralph m. mendoza
September 2005
Hours, they've been long
perhaps spent
Tawdry to none--
they dry up now
With which a scope clogs:
numbers numb weekends
For a third, it is over
A staple, whirling
without hues that hesitate
to a well lit heaviness:
stirring up the buildings
Same hues hit with breakneck speed
As it won't matter
At least to you and everyone else
Horses that spank you red:
portable clinics of relief
Hinged at full tilt
before arriving
to where trappings dim for shut-eye
A pulse detains reason:
ample only to him
Why he whines with his wine,
deadpan in a mocking tone
is nobody else's business
As he says the Lord left him in Part Two, #1.
