Download "New Millenium Homes" by Rage Against the Machine..Just go do it hehe

Wednesday last week was something. After History, I met up with Frannie and watched King Kong. The movie was really good in a lot of areas, I mean, the casting alone easily sold me. Also found out that the radiohead-frontman-looking guy who did Golum in LOTR actually did the same acting for King Kong itself. He had like 135 receptors attached on his face, which accounted for the genuine gorilla look. Fat Albert with hair. Funny thing is I just couldn't take Jack Black seriously in any way, hehe. Aside from all that, you got Peter Jackson who now looks like he lost half his total weight..probably found a way to whip up a diet as brain-whippin' as his movies..Genius!

Didn't really mind the fact that it took three hours 'cause the company was great. Watching it with someone always makes at least one part in the movie funny or funnier. And so after, we went back via the LRT to Ateneo where we joined my brother's Christmas party. It was the last time for them so the whole thing was contagiously nostalgic..Si Fran, nahawa.. hehe

Then the next day, I was stood up at band pract so I found myself trailing along with the family in Megamall. They watched Kong and I was left to bum, so I dunno, I guess I had air in my head that time when I decided to see one of the sissiest movies of all time-- Merry Christmas. Imagine Saving Private Ryan with Pavarotti on the frontline. Soldiers built their camps and barracks only to be smitten by some tenor (who suddenly comes up one night in front of both camps and begins to belt out Adeste Fideles), and soon enough they were making friends with their respective foes. The movie, was, just, all, about, peace and, gay...soldiers. Augh. Gimme ma money back man

Last Friday (Dec. 23) surprisingly went well. At around 930, I had the Starex wheezing mad through Ortigas to Racks in El Pueblo (after Simbang Gabi in Ateneo) only to find out that we were moved to play at aroung 11. We only practiced just a few hours ago that night, and yet we were strangely calm. Before we played, James quit being the manager and I was just, why?? He had his best reasons tucked underneath his Southern accent and we just sort of listened to a pep talk. I did listen, and it was really all good. Can't blame them for prioritising other things that seem to be bigger than them. No hard feelings for them leaving the band. I mean, creatively speaking there'll be adjustment to a degree for sure but if they leave, maybe they just got to. It's gonna point us to something better. I keep on drifting but really, at least it is towards something, I just know. And I'm trying to be as clear-headed as I can, trying to learn from everything even though at times I couldn't really seem to undo all the shit I've come to deal with in the past. A lot of drama in the business but sometimes, you gotta get a grip on yourself to really tame a loosely wound mind. Haha.. Anyway, the gig went really well nonetheless. Thank you to those who came or texted at least-- Chino, Miro, Diego Dabao!! Man everytime I see you I think I'm old haha i owe you!, and of course Paul, Fritz and even my dad. Didn't wait for J-hoon and the others anymore.. I just wanted to hit the bed..

Saturday, the next day was probably one of the most lively days of my month. Went to my Tita's in Cainta and hung out with my nieces and nephews (like a mad day care center!) while downing dishes and drinks I grew up with. Pure joy.

Christmas day, my family went to Bulacan for lunch. My mom's side. I was really expecting pond-fresh tilapia fried in rural sauce hehehe but I ended up eating.. catered sushi. So yeah, I was picking on the sushi in breezy ol' Bulacan. I met some new cousins, who happen to be really cool in a shy La Sallite way. Haha. Seriously, we all related pretty well. Tatang Simeon, my toothless grandpa bought a karaoke machine which we all took turns using. Melted them faces..haha Then we, we were just being silly the whole afternoon, BBBing (basking in the beautiful breeze), videotaping an annoyingly silly docu on the tirelessly multiplying tilapia.. and I don't recall the rest. We we were laughing and laughing at ourselves haha After Bulacan, we went somewhere for some party with the in-laws.

Then Monday was family shopping. Smokes, liquor.. just kidding.. basically lots of appliances and music-related stuff. I did manage to clean the Starex and the oven, too before the day ended.

Tuesday, there was a 1/4 block party (only a few made it so it was fairly wholesome haha wala si Crissy eh) in the night at Anje's house in Acropolis. Some village, really. Freaking Greek pillars at the entrance. The urban haven boasts of streets like Odysseus and Achilles among others. And some damn security guards in pristine silk robes with a horde of minotaurs galloping around. haha totoy.. Anyway we weren't really drunk, I remember. Francine cracked a joke about her lookin like a pastry and I was too souped to stop laughing about it cause she could look like she popped outta French Baker. Just Kidding! hehe peace! Miah, Chino and I ran some sort of show..and it all ended quite early..What if the whole block crashed the place? That'd be something.

Yesterday, I watched about a thousand old movies..just really wasting time and eternally tryin to relax. What homework?
