post 32

Whoay! It's been a week since my last entry. I've obviously been so busy with school and (no, Ramlo.. not girls..) my band, "& More" that I just couldnt find time to write. Wer'e performing this Saturday at the Ateneo hs Cafeteria alongside bands like Spongecola, Narda, Rampqueen, and Plane Divides the Sky! So... Wow! You couldn't ask for more... so if you miss Kafe and the good ol' days of bumming around listening to bands that really kick ass (or not) in that venue... this gig should make you happy. So.. come. Please.

Anyway, last Saturday was really fun.

First thing in the morning, I went to King's house to work on a project for TD. We used the videocam to capture a story we made up about the right to conscience... it featured Edwin acting like this hateful Muslim weirdo friend of mine and Bote acting like a Christian chicken-wuss. Hehehe. Fidel directed. I was the leader but he kinda led.. So there. King was the cameraman and Jon explained everything... in his language. King's dad gave us free Big Mac's and we hung out at his sister's room, which was a nice place. Marami nga lang mga Pokemon handbooks at Nancy Drew stuff na di ko ma-comprehend. Ha! Anyway, I checked out his mp3s. Nice stuff. Radiohead, Third Eye Blind, Cibo Matto, Radioactive Sago Project, matrix ost, etc. Err.. Bote's girlfriend also snuck in and watched us act and talk things out. Then, all of a sudden.... SHE FAINTED!! What the? Ok.. someone dose her with a liter of ammonia to sniff on... or something to eat.. God! Most of us thought she fainted on purpose. She wanted Bote to get out with her. Maybe yes. Most probably.. no. Then Randy called me up in King's house... to ask for every guide question in the lab manual! Ok. first word in my mind was: Hassle... But I was eventually kind enough to dictate everything on the phone (not in my house mind you..) and help him with the independent variables and dependent ones... Argh. Ok lang Randy. Owe u a lot anyway. :)

Then after going to the park and doing tableaus of all sorts.. Edwin, Jon, and I took a taxi bound for Ateneo HS. We set up in the classroom and practiced with the band all afternoon (no, actually just around two hours even though i came at around 1 pm.. hay naku.)...prior to almost not having an extra amp for Poch to use. We had a gig at the Hayes Hall that night. It was practically our first official (ahh..that word..) gig. We did the Silverchair thing, which sounded really nice and the Incubus oldie. Oh yeah! I even stood up while I was playing the drums to crash the cymbals 3 times. Ahh.. the energy. Before that though, we showcased the play after Esteband played a few songs. They were good. Consistent indie thing. After us, their was Matsu who did a solo Paolo-Santos-clone-acoustic-medley. He did the Calling, and two other songs from John Mayer. Really good. Really pop. But really... good. Ha! Dave Matsu Band. Actually.. he was by himself. So no band. He played the guitar and sang. (Duh.. Paolo Santos clone... whadya expect?) He was good. Shet. the skills... *Ralph, stick to tha drums...* :P Then, before we repeated the play, Kapnayan, another good acoustic band played. They did Craig David and The Calling. Whoayy. They were good.

But listening to all that made me miss her. Argh. Ang labo ko... whaa... Wala nanaman si Jamie.. my good friend. Argh. Sayang. She might miss another... gig. Sayang. What can I do? She doesn't even read this. :(

Any frickin way, I managed to cough up some strength to go to the soiree. I was pretty tired but I still went. It was at the loftiest part of Prince David Condominium.. I took the elevator and when I reached the place.. they've already started and I drank whatever I saw first. I was badly dehydrated.. and I wasn't given anything but gin! Ok.... So, they started socializing.. like rats in need of cheese. And more was even there... Yey! Poch drank too much. Haha! We then had this big circle and we got to know the names of everyone else.. I talked with a few of them and I could really say that the girls from AC are a nice bunch of people. Matinong Kausap. Then the circles got smaller and I talked with Ina. She was nice to talk to. I was really tired but she listened to me even if I sounded like this... dork. Haha! Thanks. Anyway, the converstation ranged from backbiting whoever, life, drinking, kutsinta, starbucks, Jamie (they knew her! argh.), SLC, my non-existent love-life and hers as well, etc. Joyce and Elisha kept on asking questions. Elsiha smoked her lungs out. Hahaha! Argh. Nakakahiya yung mga tanong nila. Suddenly, they knew a part of me that I usually keep to myself. Bahala na. It was a fun night. I wanna do it again. (???) I'll just have to wait I guess. I don't care about how my classmates say: "Yes Mendoza.. chicks.." They really don't matter to me. It's a waste of time listening to them. So there....

I slept at around 12:30 am. Grabe. Project-Practice-Play-Gig-Soiree. and No, I wasnt busy.
