Ok.. before anything else.. and more (which will be, by all means, changed to another name soon, I swear..) almost got the chance to play at the Pulp Summer Slam (Sayang....) last April 30! Ok.. so what happened was that we had a direct contact who said she could've put us in there if we applied earlier.. She wasn't pulling our legs. In fact, she did have a lot of experience working with popular bands (BC, Parokya, Eraserheads, Ugoy-Ugoy, etc) and she gave us a lot of details on the ticket sales and how the industry could either kick you in the balls or escalate you and your band and blah blah blah.. She said they needed more amateur bands for the event.. Grabe... nakatulala lang kami ni Edwin at ni Inigo eh... Amoranto Stadium baby... HAHA. INSANE. The possibility of getting in was just too much for us to even grasp.. Hahaha.. Di pwede eh.. HAHAHA.. Kami? Hahahaha. Anyway, we settled for this other gig on May 22, which will be in Riverbanks Marikina. It's an open FREE concert with bands such as Sugarfree, Twisted Halo, and Moonstar 88. Whoooohooo.... :)
Everyone's invited to watch. :)
I just came from the Westin Philippine Plaza last Saturday. I stayed there with my family for one night. It was my mom's 49th birthday.. It was a blast. The place rocked... The amenties were a lot more high-end and.. up-market than the ones you find in Dusit Hotel or Shangri-la to begin with.. The bathroom (sorry if im oddly fascinated; we don't have 'em at home..) was so.. nice. Ahh... I hate understatements like "nice." Well it was great. Argh.. anyway, the bathroom had this jacuzzi-ish bathtub which spawned either caustic or freezing water. So strike a balance... And an automatic faucet to match. Hahaha... I sound like I'm from a rural city up North.. Anyway.. After sunbathing and exercising, I swam in the pool. It was really really good.. but I had to put up with this guy who kept on talking to himself about a spy war (???) and all these kids swimmin around like a bunch of retarded care bears. Champion yung buffet that night mehn.. We ate in Blue Bay just a few km away from the hotel. I tasted everything.. from the paella to the sweet and sour pork to the sashimi to the porkchop.. basta.. kahit yung siomai at century egg, masarap na eh. But before all that, I downed this big plate of vegtable salad! Haha. I needed that. Then, the two plates of assorted tummy-contractors.. Then I ate some Halo-Halo to end the attrition.. Haay... Full tank.
Seeing the sunset distended across the Manila Bay was the best thing... next to seeing it go up the next day while lying down on a hammock. I wish Jamie was there with me.. I missed her so much.. Grabe.. Good thing I'm seeing her tomorrow..
I slept really late that night but had to put up with my dad who snored like the freaky dweebs you saw "fighting" in the desert market in a Star Wars flick.. hehe. :p
I saw Elisha byt the way. I hung around with her a bit.. She seemed really jumpy.. I remember asking her how long she was staying there and she said, "This is our second night." Oh ok.. hmmm... problem was.. the sun was still up... kaya dapat.. second day diba? HAHAHA. I saw her on a two-piece mehn.. I think I made her put back her shorts on.. Haha. She was gona swim but I wanted to say bye so I did and she went shy outta her wits.. Hahaha.
Hmmm... what else... I went to Starbucks last Thursday.. the one in Katipunan.. and I got to talk to Diego of Plane Divides the Sky for about an hour.. We were drinking and swapping stories which ranged from how he got a shot at writing part-time for The Buzz (yes naman) to how he desparately needed money to how his girlfriend's doing to the band's new song to their own PDTS t-shirt (yes naman) to his stint at the abs-cbn.. basta.. ang dami.. daldal ng taong yun.. sobra.. hmmm.. then i was introduced to Ray Fab (the long haired manager of spongecola who always tagged along with the band during their gigs). We talked about his part-time job also. It entailed this networking investment.. I told him he better beware of the pyramid scam thing. His checks might bounce and end up in Pyongyang or Jolo.. what a tragedy.. But the perks notwitstanding the many possibilities for flaws to seep in, were great all the same.. Grabe. Kulet ni Diego.. \m/
I miss Jamie.. kahit kakausap lang namin.. I still miss her.. it's perplexing how she makes me miss her soooo much.. wala akong masabi. :(
